2008 – Peter Carini, CEO and Chairman, Champion Energy Corporation,
New Rochelle, NY has been selected to be awarded the Robert Greenes
Award, PMAA’s special award for leaders in the oilheat industry. “Peter
has been an exceptional leader in the oilheat industry for decades”,
said marketer Bob Boltz, Director of PMAA’s Heating Fuels Division. The
award will be presented at the Oilheat Visions Conference scheduled for
September 9, 2008 in Boston, MA. The Greenes Award is named in honor of
legendary oilheat marketer Bob Greenes who exemplified leadership and
made innumerable contributions to the industry.
Peter Carini has headed two of the largest companies in the oilheat
industry and is noted for his rigorous and creative management. He was
one of the industry leaders who helped shepherd the National Oilheat
Research Alliance (NORA) legislation through Congress and subsequently
through successful industry referendums. In recent years the oilheat
industry has been driven to increase energy efficiency and Mr. Carini
has been a strong advocate for new technology and innovative burner
design. He has headed NORA’s research and development efforts over the
past eight years. “Peter was a close personal friend of Bob Greenes and
held him in highest regard”, said PMAA President Dan Gilligan. “I know
that having been selected for this award means a great deal to Peter and
it is very well deserved.”
