PMAA officer Gerry Ramm of Inland
Oil Company in Ephrata, WA, will testify once again
before Congress regarding the impact of excessive
speculation in the energy commodity markets on petroleum
and heating oil marketers. On Friday, July 11, Gerry
will testify before the committee of jurisdiction for
resolving this problem, the House Agriculture Committee.
The Full Committee hearing on Amending the
Commodity Energy Act is part of a series of
hearings that the committee will hold this week to
examine energy market manipulation and the state of the
oil and gas markets and their impact on consumers as
well as to solicit testimony and review some of the
numerous bills that have been introduced to address the
problem.
Witness lists for the hearings will not be released
until 24 hours before each hearing. The hearing on
Wednesday will begin at 2:30 p.m., and the hearings on
Thursday and Friday will begin at 10:00 a.m. All
hearings will take place in 1300 Longworth House Office
Building.
